$100M Road Rehabilitation Funds Nearing Finalization, Says PM Browne
Prime Minister Gaston Browne told Parliament on Tuesday that the $100 million earmarked for national road rehabilitation is still pending final documentation, but expressed optimism that the process could be completed within the next two weeks.
Responding to a question from Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle on the status of the funding, Browne said the government hopes to begin drawing down on the funds shortly to accelerate long-overdue road repairs across the country.

So you have been taking my money and the mechanism on how it is going to be spent has not been worked out???????
So what has So far been collected is going to be split up between the cabal???
For goodness sake ALP get something right………
Stop putting the cart before the horse………
$100 million available for road rehabilitation will be a waste of money if Public Works or C.O. Williams are still using their outdated methods and not building proper drainage systems. Their incompetence with road building is beyond belief. Why the government has tolerated this instead of using a competent engineering company like CCECC is unbelievable to me.
The Friars Hill Road mess is a prime example of what happens with inadequate or non-existent drainage. That road was last rehabilitated in 2019-2020 and some sections turned to crap soon after. The creek that runs from the Woods Pond to the McKinnons Pond is part of the problem or maybe the root cause.
They say he’s using some of the millions to finish his Castle at Marble hill. Antiguans wake up he’s blatantly doing all these things infront of y’all eyes while the entire country looks so so dirty and unkempt. Why does he need a house that big? What is he trying to prove? Why not help people in the country that really need it he has no humanity he’s just greedy..
Transport board has been making millions year in and year out, licensing vehicles is $400+ – $5000 per vehicles, number plate $100- $350, tickets- driving without seat belt etc $150 -$500,
There is currently over 75,000 C or commercial vehicles
There is currently over 25,000 GV or Government vehicles
There is currently over 50,000 A or automobile vehicles
There is currently over 15,000 R or Rental vehicles
Other: ABC, SC, has over 15,000 vehicles
Where do all these monies go over the years? The roads weren’t maintained all along; yet we take a loan of $100 million in addition to the 40% or $100-$1000 increase on the licensing. Can someone math this up for me ?
