Trinidad soldier killed during ambush

One soldier was killed and another seriously injured after they were ambushed on Monday night in Moruga on the central south coast of Trinidad.

Four other civilians were also shot during the incident that occurred at a wake when two men reportedly fired upon them.

Police said that Lance Corporal Marcus Gay was shot five times and pronounced dead at hospital while the other soldier, whose name has not yet been disclosed, is warded at hospital with gunshot wounds.

Media reports said that one other person identified as John Graham was shot and killed during the incident, but it is not certain whether he was part of the group that ambushed the soldiers.
