The Barbados born international singer, Rihanna, has called for an end to gun violence in her country after her 21-year-old cousin was shot and killed on Tuesday night.

Rhinnas
Rihanna,

“RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!” she wrote to her Instagram Tuesday. “Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!”

The 29-year-old singer ended her message by calling for an end to gun violence.

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne of Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St Michael. He was killed as he was walking through a track in the area of his house when he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Alleyne was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle. He, however, later succumbed to his injuries.

Police are asking anyone who can provide information to assist with their investigation to contact them.

  1. Shouldn’t have to wait until your family get murdered to call for the end of gun violence. Everyone’s life counts. Some people seems to wait until tragedy steps through their door to voice their opinions concerning these unfortunate senseless killings. Let’s all be proactive before the fact

  2. My sympathies go out to you Rhianna & your family… Its sad that another life has been taken unnecessary… But its even more sad that reputable figures such as Rhianna choose to make her voice heard after such an act of killing has reached her door step…. This seems to be the culture even in Antigua… No one cares what happens until it reaches home…. That needs to stop immediately… All lives are precious & sacred. Mothers, fathers, politicians, or whoever if you see something that looks contrary to our laws say something…. The next Victim may not be a cousin, a friend, a brother or a sister but very well it could be me or you!! Please let’s be our brother’s keeper and maintain a safe & peaceful paradise, Antigua
