Police are investigating the circumstances which led to the drowning of a 42-year-old Canadian national, allegedly off Ffryes Beach on Wednesday afternoon, January 25.
Reportedly the man, who resides at Jolly Harbour, along with other persons, went diving sometime after 9 a.m. However, after the excursion, when the others resurfaced, the Canadian man was nowhere to be found.
Several searches for him proved futile, until a diver from Urlings found the missing man, with his diving apparatus still attached to the body.
He was reportedly pronounced dead by a medical doctor sometime after 2 p.m.
